Members of the public are being invited to attend an open day at Yeovil Crematorium on Sunday (April 10).
The event will give interested individuals the chance to learn more about the facility and the way in which it serves the local community.
The management of the Crematorium is overseen by the Yeovil Crematorium and Cemetery Joint Committee, which comprises representatives of a number of local authorities.
Staff employed at the Crematorium work to the highest ethical standards and take a professional approach to all of their work.
Cllr Ruth Kendall, who chairs the committee, said: “The Crematorium provides an important service to people living in and around Yeovil, and the income it receives from fees and charges is used to ensure that the buildings, grounds and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
"The open day will give visitors an opportunity to find out how that money is spent and to see for themselves the wide range of facilities available."
Improvements carried out in recent years include an electronic Book of Remembrance and an extension to the Garden of Remembrance incorporating rose bush memorial facilities.
Visitors will also get a chance to see the variety of enhancement works that have been undertaken to improve access for wheelchair users.
The open day will be held on Sunday, April 10, between 10am and 4pm.
The Crematorium, which is in an attractive parkland setting, is situated off Bunford Lane, Yeovil BA20 2EJ – with vehicular access opposite Asda Supermarket.
Ample car parking is available within the Crematorium grounds.
